The Bachelorette Recap!

Ed comes back this week, a pretty standard swing in reality TV. Jillian meets up with the families of all the guys, and has some trouble with Wes. However, Wes gets to stay on the show. Pretty standard visits between all the families, and Jillian said that it was not easy to gauge the guys from their families very easily.

Kiptyn's family seemed to get along pretty well with Jillian, so it was easy to see that he would get through this week.

She did let Jessie, one of the other fan favorites, and Michael go at the rose ceremony. I am a bit surprised that Wes got to stay in the show, amid speculation (and almost confirmation) that he is on for his music career! More of Wailin' Wes, KIptyn Locke, Ed and fan favorite Reid are sticking around on The Bachelorette 5!

Kiptyn Top 5, The Bachelorette

Tonight is the first episode of the end of The Bachelorette. The Top 5 is really the beginning of the make or break, where Jillian will pick her man. Kiptyn is still in the running, but we will see where he ends up. Only about an hour to go, and I will be logging the developments tonight.

All you Kiptyn fans out there, this is where the show gets really interesting... and maybe a little stressful.

Kiptyn in top 5 on The Bachelorette!

Kiptyn stays in the top 5 of The Bachelorette as Jake, fan favorite Robby and Howard Stern favorite Tanner Feet err Tanner P eliminated this week.

As I have just moved back to the US and had a long flight I didn't watch this week, but I will get a review up as soon as possible, and cover our man Kiptyn in the following weeks.

As far as my picks go for this week's elimination, I have to think that Wes will be gone soon. It's fairly obvious he is on The Bachelorette for his music career and not for Jillian Harris.

It is now fairly obvious that Kiptyn will be in the top 3 on this season of The Bachelorette, and I have to believe that Kip is the bookie's favorite.

ABC's The Bachelorette Quick News - Kiptyn in the Top 8!

Today I was not surprised to learn that the Bachelorette Forum Fan Favorite, and Jillian favorite as well, Kiptyn Locke is in the top 8 after what appears to be a surprising rose ceremony. As I am living abroad it's hard to see the show that same day, but in a stunning turn of events Ed leaves the show after the one-on-one date! While this happens a lot on reality tv, it is the first time that I can recall on The Bachelorette. Mark was also eliminated at the rose ceremony.

Michael and Jesse both got roses from their one-on-one dates, besides Kiptyn fan favorites Robby and Reid, Wailin' Wes, Jake and King of All Media Howard Stern's favorite the foot loving Tanner P.

My full recap of what happened on the group date, for all the rest of you Kiptyn fans, will be up as soon as I can get to the episode itself!

Who will survive next week's episode of The Bachelorette, one can assume that Kip will be fine, but with Reality TV... who knows!

Week 4 Recap Kiptyn's Date

This past week on ABC's The Bachelorette featured the first one on one date with Kiptyn this season. As we know, there were 3 eliminations which I listed in the last post. And unlike last week, the one on one date did not end in an elimination.

Kiptyn brings up his biggest turn on, which is spontinaety, and his biggest fear is giving his heart to somebody... though it appears that Jillian will be the one. With the various internet polls indicating that Robby and Kiptyn as the audience favorites.

Kayaking was the choice for the one on one date, and a home cooked meal. Kiptyn obviously has a lot of experience in the outdoors, being an avid surfer himself. They make a great couple as they both are risk taking outdoorsy people, as well as their charitable contributions. Kiptyn as I originally broke earlier on this blog, is involved in events with Christian Punk band Switchfoot as well.

Giggling like a schoolgirl, Jillian gives Kip the rose that he easily deserved.

Bachelorette Quick Recap - Kiptyn Wins a Rose!

Full Recap coming soon. Kiptyn wins a rose on a one on one date with Jillian Harris. As I am in a foreign country it is not so easy to see episodes of ABC's The Bachelorette, so I am going to get a recap as soon as possible.

As I predicted last week both David AND Juan were eliminated! This in-fighting on reality shows almost always leads to an elimination! Mike was also eliminated.

Big names still in the running for The Bachelorette Season 5: Kiptyn (obviously), the creepy Tanner P, Wailin' Wes and his terrible music, and other fan favorites Robby and Reid.

Tanner P has even gotten some recognition for his foot fetish by major Reality Show watcher and King of All Media, Howard Stern. Stern is happy to see such an "interesting" guy on The Bachelorette and has recently been playing clips on the air of Tanner P. What a trip if he wins!

"Love can be Dangerous" - Jillian's date with Ed went well, and the rapelling down the cables on the skyscraper, he definitely showed his willingness to become adventurous for Jillian. Jillian has said that she wants to be with somebody who is willing to take the risks, but Ed seems to need a bigger push. He doesn't seem to have the same adventurous nature as surfer, Kiptyn.

The rest of the guys had a great time on the Western group date, though some did better than others. Brad's kiss attempt definitely bombed and definitely contributed to his elimination. The only kiss that Jillian really enjoyed was with Robby, except for the kiss she gave Kiptyn later that night!

Sasha was eliminated as well, after a decent looking date going to the Peterson Automotive Museum, where they were flying down the road in a Ferrari. The bad part about the date was his relationship test, after having told only 3 women in his life that he loved them, so there is another one out.

Tanner F - totally forgettable.

Kiptyn and Jillian had another makeout session and yet another shot at Kiptyn never having a broken heart. I wonder why Jillian keeps asking Kip about this issue, when they seem to be getting along so well. This could be a real problem, but I have never heard of a dating reality show with a contestant that has never been heartbroken. Even Chance on VH1's I Love New York was heartbroken at least once!

Elaboration on the argument: David and Juan have been having it out, damn near getting to fistfight territory. Do I think that they are going to win? No. If you look at other reality shows, especially the dating reality show, these guys/girls never win. The whiner and the jerk both get eliminated. They will probably be kept around for the drama, but Jillian will probably figure out if Juan is a liar, or if David is posturing for himself.

Another guy that won't win is TannerP. He's a creepy toe fetishist. The no talent guitar playing Wes probably won't win either. These weird types will most likely be eliminated, as they don't last on reality tv either.

6/1 The Bachelorette Recap - Kiptyn in Top 13!

On this season of ABC's The Bachelorette there were 30 men vying for Jillian's love, and now there are 13. It seems likely that Kiptyn is going to be in the running for quite a while yet as well, being successful on his group date with Jillian. Now is the time where we will start to see what kind of guy Kiptyn really is, supposedly one of the bachelors on this season of The Bachelorette is using the show as a platform to get his own reality show. Judging from what I've been able to uncover about Kiptyn, he doesn't seem to be on this show for the fame.

There was also a lot of drama between David and Juan, and on reality shows there is usually very little room for this type of arguing. If Juan has indeed been lying, David snitching on him looks like posturing as well. Jillian is smart enough to realize when she is being deceived. One or both of them may be eliminated for these kinds of actions, but if my reality show sleuthing is correct, it will probably be David before Juan.

Anyway, Kiptyn did an OK job on the group date, but he still hasn't had much of a chance to talk with Jillian one on one. It is still a bit hard to gauge his personality 100% but since Kiptyn is called out around the middle of the pack, and will return next week.

I wanted to make a quick update just to let those who missed the show know that Kiptyn is still one of the top Bachelors, and still going strong on Season 5 of The Bachelorette!

Kiptyn Kip Locke before The Bachelorette

It was clear that Kiptyn loved surfing from his promotional video at the beginning of ABC's hit reality show The Bachelorette where we see him easily taking a big wave, but what else do we know about Kiptyn? Well, I did some digging around on the internet today and found out some interesting stuff which I'd like to share with you.

Kiptyn from The Bachelorette is more popularly known in Surfing circles as "Kip" Locke, as he said "my friends call me Kip". He is one of the directors of Switchfoot Bro Am, a Surfing event held annually that is promoted by the band Switchfoot. He is involved in a company called "Scalex" having to do with measuring tools.

From what I can gather Kiptyn Locke and the founders of the "Christian Punk" band Switchfoot have been friends and surfing buddies since they were kids, and with Kip's business accumen they wanted him to head up their successful Bro Am event. Being involved in such a large event on a large stage as this it is interesting that no other site has made this connection.

Apparently he is also a bit of a philanthropist as this picture is taken from a benefit for the California Surf Museum where Harney Sushi teamed up with major brands to help out the museum. Kiptyn - Week 2

How did Kiptyn fare this week on The Bachelorette? Does Jillian still have a soft spot for him? Judging by the way their one on one chat went, and that he got some serious lip locking at the end.

What surprised me though was that Kiptyn was called out so late at the rose ceremony, is Jillian worried that he might break her heart? He said that he is the one who ends the relationship, so that could possibly hurt his chances. I do believe that in this type of show, that honesty ranks above all other things, so Kiptyn disclosing that he has broken off the relationships is probably better than denying.

The physical attraction that exists between Kiptyn and Jillian is without question going to be a big factor in this competition. He hasn't done anything yet to ruin up his chances on the personality side, but he hasn't yet been able to really endear himself to Jillian. It is only week two though, so how can they have a lot of time with each other. Now that it is whittled down to the top 16 we will be seeing a lot more of Kiptyn! Let's stay tuned and watch what happens next week.

The Bachelorette -- Tonight!

There are a lot of guys kissing Jillian in the promo too... will Kiptyn be one of them? I will keep you posted on what happens next for our man Kiptyn in his quest to win Jillian's heart!

Speculation - Kiptyn Holding Jillian?

Was that Kiptyn holding Jillian in a red dress from the promo shot the other day? Sure looks like it. The messageboards are abuzz today with all the talk of fans who simply can't get enough Kiptyn! The consensus is that he is the ultimate gentleman, so far.

Lets see where Jillian will take Kiptyn on this season of The Bachelorette!

That handsome blade is Kiptyn Locke, one of this season's picks to win The Bachelorette. This guy is almost a guranteed win for this season. The Bachelorette has a lot of strong choices, but with his job as a Business Developer and boyish good looks Kiptyn is sure to be a front runner. This season of The Bachelorette has 30 men vying for Jillian's love, but I think Kiptyn will win it!
